G'day, boys and girls! As some of you know, I've been having a blast participating in the Lacquer Legion since it went live in January. Once a month, bloggers and nail enthusiasts all over the world create a design following a theme and share it with the world!
This month's theme is Glam, and as you may have noticed with my birthday post recently, this is not an look I have trouble with!
I had so many ideas for this, I decided on a sort of skittle-that-still-coordinates. I hope I succeeded! I love black and gold together--add some sparkling stones and it's definitely glamour-worthy!
As for the materials used...
Thumb: Base of OPI Goldeneye, topped with Essie Set In Stones. This nail represents two of my all-time favourite polishes, and I never thought to wear them together until now. It looks amazing and is SO shiny, I actually had a lot of trouble photographing it in the sun. It's a brilliant combination.
Index: China Glaze Liquid Leather, Goldeneye on the tip, some 1 and 2mm crystals across the line.
Middle: Goldeneye for the base, cross made of the black stones from the Nails Inc Bling It On: Rebel nail art kit. I suppose they are 3 or 4mm. (I'm not good at estimating sizes of these things.) Last, if you look closely, silver microbeads between the stones, for a sort of riveted effect.
Ring: Half-moon mani with the black Leather Effect polish from the aforementioned Nails Inc kit, defined with some placed gold holo hex glitters from Orly Sashay My Way.
Small: The blingiest! Base of Goldeneye, then covered with 1 & 2mm crystals and stones, and some more of the bigger black ones that I used for the cross. I love this one!
See what I mean about that thumbnail? All the pics came out like this--SOOO insanely shiny that you can barely see what's going on with that nail, plus it sort of washes out the rest of them. Set In Stones is the most amazing silver glitter, though. I have about four backup bottles <3 If you don't own this one, what the heck are you doing with your life? get on that! You will not regret it!
