Hiya! Today I have an explodey-half-moon look for you:
Most people use tape to achieve perfect, crisp lines. I had planned to do this, but couldn't be bothered when I got down to it, so I used my small brush and some patience to do not-quite-perfect, nearly-crisp lines. I'll take it. Looks nice enough from normal viewing distance ;)
This gorgeous scattered-holo fucshia/hot pink polish is
Orly Miss Conduct, a big hit when it came out. It's such a pretty colour, and when I see it I always think "kaboom!" because it's so bright and seems to explode with holo shimmer. So of course, I had to use this comic-like explodey design to accent it :)
The silver is
Revlon #928 Silver Dollar, and the white and black are acrylic paint. I couldn't decide which one I wanted to use, so I did both. The black definitely looks better, though--stands out much more. At certain angles, you can see the white better, like below:

It's all sealed in with

Indoors with a tea towel. Also flash. |
Nailside has not updated in a long time, but that's where I first saw explodey tape-manis (she's the queen of those). If you're willing to spend a little longer masking off your lines it's easier to get it neat :)
Have a lovely day, and I'll see you next time! xoxo
