Hullo! It's December! And for the first time in my life, I'm experiencing a hot holiday season. It feels so weird to me! But December means I start doing Christmas manis, and if you think I'm going to let some 40C weather stop me from painting snowflakes all over my nails, you should think again! ;)
I'm working on my first Christmas mani as we speak, but first I have to show you one I wore last week using another of my new piCture pOlish shades: Tail Feather!
This gorgeous polish I picked up during my visit to PP's HQ (!!) is almost neon-green in some lights, yet minty and demure in others. It's packed full of PP's signature "multidimensional" sparkle--I call it that because it looks beautiful in any light! In the shade they shimmer silvery-white, and in the sun they explode into pink and blue and it's just stunning :D Kayla has her own amazing swatches here, but I took a few photos too--this is three coats plus topcoat:
I used black acrylic paint and a small brush to paint my peacock feathers. I'd had soooo much coffee my hand was shaking, but I guess natural feathers aren't always perfect either! We all have a shaky day now and then. Anyway, after I laid down the black, I used Zoya Midori (lime green) and two Sally Hansen Lustre Shine shades (Firefly--bronze, and Scarab--teal) to paint the classic eye in the middle, plus highlight the feathery bits on the sides. (Aren't those Lustre Shine shades just perfect for this??) Finally, a bit more black in the middle to complete the feathers, and Seche Vite on top to finish it off.
I got a lot of compliments on these! I think I'll try using actual feathers sometime with this shade :)
Tail Feather is still available on their website if you're interested!
And now, let the onslaught of holiday manis begin :D see you soon! xoxo
