Hello! Today I've got a pretty swirly look that's a lot easier to do than it seems :)
The first step of this mani was actually completed a couple of days before putting it on my nails. I dropped a few blobs of Wet N' Wild Black Creme and Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Celeb City onto a plastic baggie, and then used a toothpick to swirl them around a bit to create a pretty pattern. Once it all dried completely, I was able to pull the entire sheet off, and had a big decal:
I cut two nail-sized pieces from this, and used basecoat to adhere them to my middle and ring fingers. Instant marble, no water or mess needed!
For the other three nails, I decided to use Mercury Twilight by Layla Cosmetics. A nice silver holo is a great compliment to the swirled nails. I topcoated with Seche Vite, and at this point my nails looked like this:
But alas! You may have noticed the bald spot on my middle nail. Made a little mistake when pressing down my decal-sheet. Luckily I had lots of choices for an accent piece to cover the problem, and chose this black bow from Born Pretty Store to finish it off :)
I need to use this technique more often! Being able to prepare the decals ahead of time means you can quickly do a cool mani if you're in a hurry but still want something special. I might lay down a few of them right now. It's a fun way to experiment with colour combinations and techniques, too--if you don't like a particular design, just let it dry, peel it off, and toss it; no harm done. :)
I hope you liked this one. See you next time for more! xoxo
